Hilton, NY — Russell Sage College women's basketball senior forward Madasyn Bush (Pottersville, NY/North Warren Central) was selected on Monday as the Empire 8 Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The selection comes on the heels of her string showing on Friday night in conjunction with her Senior Night ceremony as the Gators hosted Keuka College.
Bush led the Gators to a 72-50 win after she had a season-high 21 points. Bush, who shot 8-for-14 from the floor and added a double-double with a career-best 14 rebounds. After Friday's action, Bush continues to add to her career resume at Sage as she now has 637 career points with 418 rebounds in 80 career games played. She is now tied for 16th place on the Gator rebounding list with Ashli Fragomeni (2004-2008), while her career games played ranks 21st.
On the season, she is a six game starter and is the team's leading scorer with a 14.2 ppg average, while adding a 9.7 rpg average, also tops for the Gators. She has an 83.3% free throw percentage this season to go with her 46.7% field goal percentage and is averaging 24.3 minutes a game.
