Make plans to attend this year's Russell Sage College Field Hockey Day Camps!
Russell Sage Field Hockey Day Camps will offer the opportunity to learn and practice the fundamental skills, techniques, and strategies necessary for the game of field hockey. Camp staff will instruct campers in the latest techniques as well as offensive and defensive systems and strategies. There will also be time devoted to scrimmages and game situations. The camp will run June 18, 19, 25 and 26, 2021. The camp runs from 9 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Registration and drop off will begin 30 minutes prior to the start of the camp.
Eligibility
Girls and boys in grades 7 - 12 are eligible for the camp. 2021 high school graduates are also eligible. Camp enrollment limited to the first 48 registrants.
Camp Staff
Head Coach and Camp Director, Tamara Mills who was named the program's second head coach in the summer of 2019, led the young squad to a highly successful campaign in her first season. Over the course of the campaign, she guided the Gators to an 8-11 overall performance, nearly doubling the team's wins from the previous season.
Mills, a 2016 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College (Lancaster, PA), arrived at Sage having spent the previous year as the assistant field hockey and women's lacrosse coach at DePauw University. Before her time at DePauw, Mills was a graduate student at McDaniel College and also served as the Interim Head Coach from August of 2016 until May of 2018. While at McDaniel, Mills also achieved her Masters of Kinesiology degree. She holds a Level 1 accreditation from the United States Field Hockey Association and is also in the process of earning her certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
An active participant with the U.S.A. Futures Development Program, Mills has also worked with the College Connections and Elite Field Hockey Camps.
As a collegiate student-athlete Mills excelled at Franklin and Marshall College having helped the Diplomats to a combined 70-11 mark with three trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament including a pair of Sweet Sixteen appearances.
Russell Sage College is offering a field hockey day camp for girls and boys entering 7th—12th grade. All campers will be placed in skill groups determined by their demonstrated level of skill.
Cost
The cost for the camp is $100 per person for one day. $145 for two days, $165 for three days, and $185 for all four days.
