Fourth quarter surge finds Nazareth as victor over Gators on Friday night

Rochester, NY — Russell Sage College women's basketball team travelled to Nazareth College for an Empire 8 contest on Friday night. Sage held a 51-49 lead after three quarters of play, but were unable to hold on as the Golden Flyers held the Gators to eight fourth quarter points and triumphed, 71-59. Nazareth stands at 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the E8, while Sage is now 1-3 overall and in the league.

For the game, junior guard Sammy Pasinella (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) had a season-high 21 points, while junior Meghan Murray (Watervliet, NY/Watervliet) added a double-double on 10 points with 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Emily Erickson (Melrose, NY/Tamarac) added 10 points off the bench with three assists and three steals.   Senior forward Madasyn Bush (Pottersville, NY/North Warren Central) had 11 rebounds with eight points in the action for the Gators as they finished the night with a 47-45 edge on the boards. Bush now has 597 career points with the Gators.

Nazareth had three players finish in double digit scoring paced by the play of Miyah Sizer who had 20 points, while Kim David had a double-double on 18 points with 15 rebounds.                                                                                                

Sage returns to action on March 21 hosting Nazareth College in a 3 p.m. Empire 8 match-up.
