RSC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER STUART PHAIR NAMED TO 2020-2021 COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM

Albany, NY — Russell Sage College's men's basketball player, junior forward/center Stuart Phair (Canberra, Australia/Trinity Christian School) earned acclaim on Thursday as he was named to the  2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late May.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.

Phair, who helped the Gators to their second straight Empire 8 Tournament appearance in 2020-2021, finished the year as a 10-game starter with an 8.4 ppg average. He added 5.6 rebounds per game with a team-best 16 blocked shots. He also had an impressive 54.9% field goal percentage on the season.

On his career, Phair has now started 36 of 59 games played. He stands 14^th in career games played at RSC, while also ranking third with his 64 career blocks. He has 263 career rebounds, which is 13^th best as well for the Gators. His 369 career points is 22^nd best as well, while his 50.2% career field goal percentage (157-313) is 12^th best at RSC.

Also a member of the men's golf team at RSC, he participated two weeks ago in the 2021 Empire 8 Championship, where he finished 20^th overall with two-day score of 175 (89-86) and was named to the Sportsman Team for his performance.
