Rochester, NY — The Russell Sage College men's indoor track and field team travelled to Nazareth College for the program's first-ever meet. Competing at the Nazareth College Mini Invite in the Golisano Training Center, the Gators opened a new era as they took to the track in the program's first indoor competition. Head Coach David Taranto helped the women's team to an impressive fourth place showing, while Sage's men's team finished in fifth place.

Among the many highlights on the day, Sage's men's team won the distance medley relay in a time of 11:34.44 as seniors Holden Maynard (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen), Arnold Burnett (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy), Ellis Richardson (Hudson, NY/Hudson), and rookie Dominic Nova (Rensselaer, NY/Columbia) bested the field on Saturday afternoon.
In the mile run, Nova added a third place finish with his time of 4:33.52 and Maynard picked up 16th in 4:56.57.
The Gators also took fourth in the 4 x 400 relay in 3:55.82 as Ramasoj Williams (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt), junior Jared Young (Winthrop, NY/Brasher Falls Central), rookie Carlos Temple (Strykersville, NY/Iroquois Central), and sophomore Michael Cichy (Selkirk, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) teamed together.
In the 200 meter run, Williams picked up 15th in 25.11, while Burnett was 18th in 25.53. Rookie Tyler Case (Bronx, NY/Bronx School for Law, Government, and Justice) picked up 23rd in 27.80. Junior Deshawn Fleary (Newark, NJ/Immaculate Conception Montclair) picked up 24th in 28.30. In the long jump, Fleary finished in 10th with a performance of 4.70, while Tempe was 11th with a mark of 4.69 meters.
Cichy added a 12th place finish in the 400 meter run in 59.02, while Temple was 13th in 1:00.89. In the 800 meter run, Young was ninth in 2:17.27 and junior Brett LaBier (Albany, NY/Colonie) was next in 14th in 2:38.59. Senior Noah Vice (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) picked up 8th in the high jump with a performance of 1.64 meters.
