Matt Milograno joins Sage Men's Soccer Coaching Staff

Albany, NY — Russell Sage College has announced that Matthew Milograno (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) has been added to the men's soccer coaching staff. A 2018 graduate of Utica College, Milograno arrives at Sage this fall and will serve as the goalkeeping coach for the men's soccer program under head coach Matt Esposito.

Milograno, who earned a bachelor of science degree in business economics in 2018, arrives at Sage with an extensive resume having excelled on the pitch for the Utica Pioneers. He started 28 or 29 matches in net for Utica, twice earning Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week citations. During his collegiate career, he recorded a 2.20 goals against average, while making 178 career saves in nearly 2,600 career minutes played in net. As a senior on the Utica College soccer team, Milograno provided the game-winning goal on senior day as the Pioneers knocked off Empire 8 opponent Stevens with a final score of 4-3. It was Senior Day for the Pioneers, as the Pioneers' senior goalkeeper scored the game-winning goal in the last game of the 2017 season.

Milograno arrives at Sage after most recently serving as the head goalkeeping coach and director for the BLGK Academy in Syracuse, NY. He has also served since January 2019 as the assistant women's and men's soccer coach at SUNY-Cobleskill, where he was the Fighting Tigers' goalkeeping coach. Additionally, he has experience having worked for the Utica Comets of the AHL working as a game-day operations intern from 2017-2018.  He also has worked as an assistant coach at the Army-West Point Women's Soccer Camp.
