Keuka Park, NY —Russell Sage College's women's lacrosse team travelled to Keuka College for their first meeting and their Empire 8 season finale. Keuka posted a 23-17 win to improve to 1-4 overall and in the Empire 8, while the loss puts RSC at 3-5 overall and 2-5 in the league.

Keuka led 10-7 at the half, but the Gators could not closer in the final half of play.

Sophomore Samantha Shafer (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) led the Gator scoring effort with her four goals and added three assists. Graduate performer Brittany Gage (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) added three goals with three assists, while newcomer Alexandra Queeney (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) added three goals with an assist.

Sophomore Caroline Mushinski (Pownal, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) added three goals an assist as well as the Gators had four players with hat tricks on Saturday.

On the season, Queeney and Gage are the team's point leaders as they each have 21. Queeney on 16 goals with five assists, while Gage has 11 goals with 10 assists.

Gage is now third in career points at Sage with 82 adding 54 goals and 28 assists.

In goal for the Gators, senior Carly Plaisance (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) started and made six saves with 13 goals allowed in 30 minutes of work. Senior Marina Azab (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) made seven saves in 30 plus minutes of work with 10 goals allowed.

After today's contest, Azab is now third in career saves with 205 in 35 games played with a 5.85 career saves per game average which stands fourth. Plaisance ranks fifth with 162 career saves and is also fifth with her 4.56 career saves per game average.

Despite Saturday's setback, RSC has earned their first birth in the Empire 8 Tournament and are awaiting pairings for the upcoming league tournament.
