Banner Night for Gator Men at Utica Meet

Utica, NY — The Russell Sage College's men's indoor track and field team travelled to Utica College on Friday evening for a dual meet with the Pioneers. In the men's meet, Sage took home second place behind Utica's 80 points to the Gators' 30 points. 

Rookie Dominic Nova (Rensselaer, NY/Columbia), this week's Empire 8 Men's Indoor Track Performer of the week had a strong showing for the Gators on Friday. Nova won the 800 meter run in 1:58.83.  He also picked up first place in the 3,000 meter run as well in 9:38.93.

Senior Holden Maynard (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) won the one mile run in 4:56.17 and was second in the 3,000 meter run in 10:21.38.

The Gators were also victorious in the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 3:49.00 behind the efforts of senior Ellis Richardson (Hudson, NY/Hudson), junior Jared Young (Winthrop, NY/Brasher Falls Central), rookie Carlos Temple (Strykersville, NY/Iroquois Central), and sophomore Michael Cichy (Selkirk, NY/Broadalbin-Perth).

In the 400 meter run, Richardson picked up third in 54.19, while Cichy was right behind him in fourth in 56.34.  Ramasoj Williams (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) was fifth in 56.73 and senior Arnold Burnett (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy) posted a time of 57.29 and took home sixth place.

In the 60 meter dash, Burnett led the Gators with a fourth place showing in 8.04, while senior Noah Vice (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) picked up 5th 8.15.  Rookie Christian Marvey-Maloney (Brooklyn, NY/Urban Assembly School for Green Careers) was sixth in 8.27 and newcomer Tyler Case (Bronx, NY/Bronx School for Law, Government and Justice) was seventh in 8.43.

In the 200 meter run, Burnett was the top Gator performer in second place in 25.06, just ahead of Williams who was third in 25.56. Marvey-Maloney took home fourth in 26.78. Case added a time of 27.23 to take fifth and Temple was next in sixth in 27.57.

In the long jump, Temple was fourth with his mark of 4.65 meters. Vice added a third place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.65 meters.
