Hilton, NY — Two days after Russell Sage College's men's indoor track and field team had the program's first meet, acclaim for one of the Gators has arrived. The Gators opened a new era as they took to the track in the program's first indoor competition on Saturday at the Nazareth College Mini Invite.
Sage's rookie distance performer, Dominic Nova (Rensselaer, NY/Columbia) has earned recognition from the Empire 8 as this week's male indoor track athlete of the week.

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Dominic Nova, Sage, Fr., Distance, Rensselaer, NY/Columbia
In the program's first ever indoor meet, Nova was the anchor and part of the winning distance medley relay team at the Nazareth Invitational Saturday, posting a time of 11:34.44. He also added a third-place finish in the 1-mile run with a time of 4:56.57.
The Gators will be back in action this Friday travelling to Utica College to compete in the Pioneer Invitational, which starts at 5 p.m. on March 12.
