Cummings pours in 19 points but it is not enough as Gators fall at Utica

Utica, NY — Russell Sage College's men's basketball team travelled to Utica College on Friday night, just 24 hours after hosting the Pioneers in an Empire 8 contest. Friday's action went to the Pioneers as they posted a 78-65 win. Utica is now 6-2 overall and in the league, while the Gators are now 3-5.

The Gators got a strong showing from junior Amani Cummings (Brooklyn, NY/Transit Tech) as he had just four points at the break. He finished the night with 19 points and hit all 8 of his free throw attempts in the contest. 

Junior Jalon Borders (Bartow, FL/Bartow) added 16 points with five rebound and four assists, while junior forward Fethener Aime (Palm Coast, FL/Flagler Palm Coast) added nine rebounds with six points, while junior Stuart Phair (Canberra, Australia) had six points and rebounds for the Gators.

RSC returns to action on April 3 hosting Houghton College in a 7 p.m. Empire 8 contest. Prior to the game, the Gators will honor their lone senior, Morgan Shute (Lafayette, NY/Lafayette).
