At Sage:

  • Jalon Borders had a banner rookie season that saw him start 13 of 16 games played. He added a 7.2 ppg average with a 2.4 rpg average on the year.
  • He averaged 20.3 minutes per game as well and 22 steals with 15 assists.
  • As a sophomore, Borders added a selection to the 2019-2020 Empire 8 All-Star First Team, while also earning a spot on the E8 Championship All-Tournament Team.
  • In the semifinal game against top seeded Nazareth College, Borders scored a personal-best 34 points and added a team-best 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the year. The 34 points by Borders ranks second all-time in single-game performances, just two behind a 36 point showing by Robert Mills (36 vs SUNY-Old Westbury, 2/23/2017). Borders shot 13-of-22 from the floor and 7-9 from the line while adding 10 rebounds with nine defensive rebounds in the semifinals.
  • On the 2019-2020 season, Borders led the Gators in scoring with a personal-best 424 points with a 16.3 ppg average. His 424 points in a season ranks third all-time for most points in a year, while his 16.3 ppg average is seventh best.
  • A two-time Empire 8 Player of the Week honoree in 2019-20, he shot 47.6% from the floor (165-347), while also handing out 40 assists with 41 steals. He led the team with his 31.0 minutes played per game as well.
  • He was the team’s high scorer 17 times, while also leading the Gators in rebounding seven times. He had four double-doubles as well in 2019-20.
  • Borders was ranked nationally in total field goals made, standing 163rd in Division 3 with 165, while also ranking 162nd in total field goal attempts (347).
  • Borders was also honored as the 2019-2020 Sage Male Athlete of the Year.
  • Entering his junior season, Borders has 539 career points and is 11th in career scoring at Sage. He owns a 12.8 career point per games average, while appearing in 42 games with 38 starts. He ranks in several field goal shooting categories at Sage, while also ranking in three-point baskets, free throws, and is 20th with his 185 career rebounds.
