Albany, NY—Sage's women's volleyball player, senior defensive specialist Megan Ryder (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) was named to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District Division III Women's Volleyball Team on Thursday for her outstanding play on the court and work in the classroom.
The 2019 Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.

Ryder, who twice during her career had 30 plus digs in a match, finishes with 800 digs in her time as a Gator. She played in 57 sets with 263 kills, 62 aces, 43 total blocks and 350.5 career points having earned a pair of letters at Sage.
On her 2019 season, she started 26 of 28 matches played and finished the year as the team's digs leader with 407, good enough for a 4.11 digs per set average. She added 162 kills with 29 aces, which led the team as well this fall. She racked up a .881 reception percentage in addition to tallying 207.5 points as a senior.
An accomplished student-athlete, she is a psychology major at Sage with a 3.90 grade point average.
Ryder is a member of the Sage Athletic Honor Society as she was inducted in 2019 as a junior. She is also a Sage Scholar-Athlete honoree and was selected three times to the Empire 8 Presidents' List.
