Men's lacrosse fall on the road to Rams

Farmingdale, NY —The Rams of Farmingdale State collected a 14-4 win over Sage on Saturday afternoon in non-conference play as three players finished with hat tricks and Jake Wandle netted seven points to lead the charge. With the win, FSC is now 4-0, while Sage is now 0-3 on the year.

Sage took a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter as rookie midfielder Aaron Heyman (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) and rookie attackman Anthony Abreu (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) both scored. FSC led 4-3 at the half but outscored the Gators 10-1 in the second half to seal the win.

Sage got two goals from Abreu, while sophomore attacker Robert Martin (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) finished with a goal and an assist for the Gators. Sophomore long stick defenseman Joe Moreno (Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove) had six ground ball pickups for Sage with three caused turnovers. Rookie midfielder Sean McGirr (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) was 4-of-17 on faceoffs and had a caused turnover as well in the contest.  Sophomore middie Shea Obado (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) collected an assist with four caused turnovers and four ground balls as well.

Sage's s sophomore goalie Michael Capitelli (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) made 13 saves in the contest.

Sage returns to action on March 2 hosting Mitchell College in the team's 2020 home opener at 4 p.m. at ACP Stadium.
