GILBERT, Ariz. — This year, 321 student-athletes have been recognized as Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction. The Division III Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.
The Gators had five players named to the prestigious list including a repeat honoree from last year's honorees.
The NFHCA has already announced the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award and the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad — the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete will be announced on April 2.

For the year, Sage's field hockey team doubled the win total from the inaugural season as they went 8-11 under rookie head coach Tamara Mills and with their victory Friday night earned the team's first Empire 8 victory after an 0-8 season in 2018 in the Empire 8.
