Plattsburgh, NY — The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team travelled to Plattsburgh State for a non-conference match with the Cardinals. PSU posted a 2-1 win, snapping Sage's two-game win streak. Plattsburgh improves to 2-3, while the loss puts the Gators at 2-2.
The Cardinals got on the scoreboard first Chris Robertson scored at 15:25 on a pass from Devin Lambe. They held a 1-0 lead at the break before Lambe scored on a feed from Alex Graci at 60:40 in what turned out to be the game-winner.
Sage's senior midfielder Alberto Cannistraci (Schenectady, NY/Colonie Central) scored on a pass from junior midfielder Stephen Spraker (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) to cut the lead by one at 71:19. Sage could not tie the action but had several scoring chances down the stretch.
In goal for the Gators, sophomore Lucas Bourdeau (Castleton-on-Hudson, NY/Maple Hill) made four saves in in goal and is now 2-2 on the season. Ryan Wilson collected the win with one save in the action for Plattsburgh.
Sage is back in action on September 14 hosting No. 2 ranked Oneonta State in the team's 2019 home opener at ACP Stadium with a noon kickoff.
