SAGE'S WOMEN'S TENNIS TOPS ALFRED TO REMAIN PERFECT IN EMPIRE 8

Albany, NY—The Sage Colleges' women's tennis team hosted Alfred University on Saturday at the Albany Academy Tennis Facility in a key Empire 8 match. The Gators posted a 7-2 win to capture the team's sixth straight win as they now stand at 8-1 overall and 2-0 in the Empire 8. Alfred drops to 2-7 overall and 2-2 in the league.

Senior Sadie Dunne (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) had the decisive singles win for the Gators as she collected the 6-0, 6-0 victory at third singles. Dunne is now 6-2 in singles play this fall.

At No. 2 doubles, Sage's senior Rebecca Jackson (Saugerties, NY/John A. Coleman) and sophomore Taylor Gillespie (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) added an 8-0 win, besting Alfred's rookie Kailey Reyes (Dallas, TX) and sophomore Madison Palmer (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) to improve to 8-0 this fall in doubles play with one another.

Senior Abbey Clobridge (West Sand Lake, NY/Averill Park) posted a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles for the Gators, beating senior Tori Pellegrino (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and is now 5-4 in singles action this fall.

Sophomore Kaitlin Banks (Annapolis, MD/Mt. Anthony Union) added 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles for Sage is stands at 6-2 in singles play on the campaign.

Sage is back in action on September 29 travelling to Utica College for an Empire 8 match at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
