RPI snaps Gator win streak with 3-0 victory

Troy, NY — The Sage Colleges' women's soccer team travelled to Troy to take on regional rival RPI on Tuesday evening in a non-conference match up. The Engineers posted a 3-0 win to stop Sage's three-game win streak. RPI improves to 2-2-2, while Sage is now 3-2.

RPI led 2-0 at the break and held on for the home win over the Gators. Erin Barnes scored at 17:45 on a pass from Jacqui Richard at 17:45 for her first goal of the year. Just before the half, Olivia Spector scored to give RPI a 2-0 lead at the intermission.

RPI's Kate Nadeau picked up the shutout as she made five saves on seven Sage shots, while Sage's rookie keeper Kallan Shertzer (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) suffered the loss with seven saves.

Sage is back in action on September 21 travelling to Elmira for the team's 2019 Empire 8 opener with the Soaring Eagles at 1 p.m.
