
Gators Get Back in the Win Column at SUNY Poly

The Gators (4-8-2/2-5-1 E8) got started quickly, holding a 2-0 lead just 6:18 in. After a SUNY Poly own goal 92 seconds in, senior forward Gianna Viscusi (Duanesburg, NY/Schalmont) doubled the RSC lead.
Just 1:43 into the second half, senior forward Lillihanna Delsignore (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) increased the Gator advantage.
The support was more than enough for sophomore goalkeeper Hailey Blake (Schenectady, NY/Colonie Central) (Win, 3-2-1). She made four saves, with the lone Wildcats goal coming via a penalty kick in the 70th minute.
RSC, which out-shot SUNY Poly (1-11-2/0-7-0 E8) by a 19-7 margin, is back in action on Saturday at 4:00 pm against Keuka. The home contest will serve as the program's "Senior Day".
Gator Bites with Papa John's: The Gators are coming off of their third-straight appearance in the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament…RSC, the 2020-21 E8 champs, has 16 players back from last year's squad…Junior goalkeeper Olivia Horan (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville), senior midfielder Jaclyn Benedetti (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), and Viscusi highlight the returning Gators…Horan commenced the autumn with a 0.95 career goals-against average, a program record, and sat third among RSC keepers with 11 career shutouts… Head Coach Garrett Cobb, now in his tenth season at the helm of the Gators, added 12 newcomers to the program.
