ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Soccer played host to SUNY Geneseo for an Empire 8 conference contest on Saturday, falling to the Knights 2-0.

Sophomore goalkeeper Hailey Blake (Schenectady, NY/Colonie Central) stopped ten Geneseo shots.

SUNY Geneseo (1-4-3/1-1-1 E8) got the scoring started in the first half with a goal from Grace Engle, then one a piece from Ella Yartym and Kristen Shepard in the second.

RSC (3-6/1-3 E8) has its final non-conference contest of the fall up next, hosting Mount Saint Mary College on Wednesday.

Gator Bites with Papa John’s: The Gators are coming off of their third-straight appearance in the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament…RSC, the 2020-21 E8 champs, has 16 players back from last year’s squad…Junior goalkeeper Olivia Horan (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville), senior midfielder Jaclyn Benedetti ( Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), and senior forward Gianna Viscusi ( Duanesburg, NY/Schalmont) highlight the returning Gators…Horan commenced the autumn with a 0.95 career goals-against average, a program record, and sat third among RSC keepers with 11 career shutouts… Head Coach Garrett Cobb, now in his tenth season at the helm of the Gators, added 12 newcomers to the program.
