Women's Tennis Posts 6-3 win over Lakers
Oswego, NY—The Sage Colleges' women's tennis team traveled to Oswego State for a non-conference match with the Lakers on Saturday. Sage collected a 6-3 win to remain unbeaten as they are now 2-0. Oswego State falls to 1-2 on the year.
 
Sage led 2-1 after doubles as the Gators won at No. 2 and No. 3 on the ladder. Senior Rebecca Jackson (Saugerties, NY/John A. Coleman) and sophomore Taylor Gillespie (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) earned an 8-7 (7-2) win at No. 2 doubles beating Lora Gould and Jenny Lapp. At third doubles, Sage's senior Alison Trudo (Plattsburgh, NY/Beekmantown) teamed with junior Molly Cochrane (Ravena, NY/Ravena-Coeysman) earned an 8-5 win over Mattie Wallace and Jenna Wilson.
 
In singles action, Cochrane had the decisive win at No. 6 singles with a 6-1, 603 win over Wallace. Sage also added singles win at No. 1 (Clobridge), No. 2 (Jackson), and No. 3 Gillespie.
 
Next up Sage will be back in action on September 8 hosting Western New England University in a 1 p.m. match at Albany Academy Tennis Courts.
