Albany, NY—The Red Dragons of SUNY-Cortland hosted Sage on Tuesday night in a women's soccer non-conference match. Cortland posted a 4-0 win to improve to 4-3-1, while the loss puts Sage 4-3-2. Cortland led 3-0 at the half and was paced by the play of Amanda Profera as she tallied a hat trick to lead the Red Dragons.
The Gators had a chance with a free kick from about 40 yards out by Lydia Malkiewicz in the first half as it went over the cross bar, but were unable to put the ball in the net.
Sage's rookie goalies Mickaela Buzzy (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) and Natalie Tidings (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) both saw time in the goal. Buzzy played the first half with three goals allowed and four saves, but took the loss falling to 2-3-2 in goal. Tidings worked the second half with one goal allowed and one save.
Sage is back in action on September 29 hosting Emerson College in a noon non-conference match-up at ACP's Field
