Pittsford, NY – Host Nazareth College remained undefeated with a 9-0 women's tennis home win over The Sage Colleges Saturday. The Golden Flyers are now 6-0 overall and 5-0 in Empire 8 play while the Gators stand 4-5 overall and 2-4 in league play.
Sage junior Julia Geisel (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) had a tough 6-3 loss in the third singles to Marisa Joyce and lost 6-1 in the second set. Geisel joined junior Rebecca Jackson (Saugerties, NY/John H. Coleman) in a first doubles match that was an 8-3 defeat, the closest match in doubles play.
Sage continues Empire 8 play with a match on Tuesday, October 2 at Hartwick. The time is to be announced.
