Albany, NY—The Sage Colleges' women's tennis team hosted the Cardinals of St. John Fisher College in an Empire 8 match on Saturday afternoon at the Albany Academy Tennis Facility. SJFC collected the 8-1 victory to improve to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Empire 8. The loss puts Sage at 4-3 overall and 2-3 in the league.

For Sage, the lone point came from the second doubles match as the tandem of juniors Julia Geisel (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and Rebecca Jackson (Saugerties, NY/John A. Coleman) collected an 8-4 win, upping the Gator duo's record to a perfect 7-0 with one another.

At fourth singles, SJCF's Mikayla Santulli picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win over Geisel, for the first loss of the year in singles play for Geisel. She is now 4-1 in singles action in her first year at Sage.

Sage is back in action on September 26 travelling to Bard College for a 4 p.m. road non-conference match-up. St. John Fisher College travels to Stevens for a Noon Empire 8 match on Sunday, September 23 in Hoboken, NJ.
