Utica, NY— The Pioneers of Utica College posted a 74-57 victory over Sage in men's basketball action in Empire 8 play. Sage drops to 9-13 overall and 5-8 in the league, while Utica improves to 11-9 and 5-6 in the conference.
Sage's senior forward Chris Kidd (Troy, NY/Beacon) connected for a team-best 18 points with seven rebounds and added three steals. Sophomore Anthony Mitchell (Bronx, NY/Salesian) contributed 15 points for the Gators as well.
Sage's sophomore center Joshua Gonzalez (Albany, NY/Canajoharie) added eight rebounds with six points, while graduate player Frane Larose (Miami, FL/North Miami Beach Senior) chipped in eight points with five rebounds and three assists.
Utica's Shawn Gashi led all players with 27 points, while Avery Coston collected 18 points for the Pioneers.
Sage is back in action for another Empire 8 game at Houghton College on February 8 at 7:30 p.m. on the road.
