Stevens wins in three

Hoboken, N.J. – Elizabeth Chu served up 12 aces and added 11 digs to lead Stephens Institute of Technology to a three set sweep in an Empire 8 volleyball match at Canavan Arena Wednesday night.

The Ducks won by scores of 25-7, 25-12 and 25-10 and improved to 18-4 and 6-0 to lead the Empire 8 standings. Sage is now 5-15 overall and 0-6 in the conference.

Sara Hain had a match high eight kills and Corinne Dougherty had seven for the Ducks. Brianna Perez led all players with her 14 assists. The Ducks had 32 kills in the match.

Junior middle hitter Miranda Nethaway (Fonda, NY/Fonda Fultonville Central) led the Gators with four kills and freshman middle hitter Alexys Hutchins (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) recorded three kills. Junior outside hitter Megan Ryder (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) led the guests with six digs.

Sage competes at the Ramapo College tournament this Saturday, and will face Wells at 1 p.m. and the host school at 3 p.m.
