Kansas City, MO— The United Soccer Coaches have released the 2018 NCAA Division III Regional Teams and Sage's senior women's soccer player Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) was honored with a selection to the 2018 All-East Regional Third Team. A 2018 Empire 8 Women's Soccer First Team All-Star, Trimblett is also a current candidate for the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Women's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA after earning first team all-district acclaim.
An accomplished student-athlete, Trimblett has a 3.70 grade-point-average as a graphic and media design major at Sage. With her selection to the Empire 8 All-Star Team, she is the first Gator women's soccer player to earn a spot on the Empire 8 First Team in women's soccer.
Trimblett set the career record for assists at Sage and finished her stellar career having been the Gators' leading scorer in all four of her seasons on the team. She closed her career with 22 points on nine goals with four assists and two game-winning goals in 2018. She had one of the best careers of any Gator in women's soccer history having guided the Gators to post-season appearances in three of her four years on the team.
She closed her time in a Sage uniform as the all-time career leader in assists at Sage with 24 and finishes with 114 career points, ranking second all-time in Sage women's soccer annals. She tallied 45 career goals, which is third best at Sage.
She earned Empire 8 Player of the Week honors in the fall of 2017 to become the first Gator honored with the weekly player citation as the Gators were new to the Empire 8 last fall. As a junior, she was also recognized by the Empire 8 with a selection to the Empire 8 Second Team.
She was also honored in late October as the Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week after a 2-0 week for Sage with her adding four goals and a hat trick in the team's win over Houghton and helped the Sage team collect the No. 4 seed in the Empire 8 Tournament.
Sage capped the 2018 campaign with their first appearance in the Empire 8 tournament after garnering the No. 4 seed. The Gators posted a record of 10-7-2 on the season with a record of 4-3-1 in the Empire 8.
