Sage golfers open season at Cobleskill Jug Invitational

Cobleskill, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's golf team opened the 2017 campaign on Friday afternoon competing at the SUNY-Cobleskill Jug Classic, held at Cobleskill Golf Course.  The tournament marked the debut of Sage's new head men's golf coach Kevin Cain.

 Representing Sage at the match were a trio of performers. Leading the way was rookie Blake Pritchard (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) as he carded an 86 and finished tied for 11th. Sophomore Jared Almy (Howes Cave, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) and Tyler Schnaible (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) opened their second season with a pair of strong scores. Schnaible posted a round of 94, while Almy carded a 97 on the afternoon. Schnaible was tied for 23rd, while Almy picked up a tie for 28th place on the par 70, 6,163 yard course.

Sage is back in action on September 9 when the team will travel to Vermont to compete in the Green Mountain College Invitational at St. Catherine's Country Club (Poultney, VT) with an 11 a.m. start time.
