Rochester, NY- Sage's women's basketball player, rookie forward Madasyn Bush (Pottersville, NY/North Warren Central) was named the Empire 8 Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week on Monday. The selection is her second citation for the season. She has helped the Gators rack up an impressive 8-3 overall record, while standing at 2-0 o the year in the empire 8.

Madasyn Bush averaged 18 points and six rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Gators. She was red-hot from the floor shooting 76.5% (13-of-17) and made 10-of-13 from the line (77%). She poured in a career-high 22 points on Tuesday against Nazareth as Sage won its first E8 game of the season. On Saturday, she was the high scorer against Elmira with 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
On the season, Bush has played in all 11 games for Sage and owns an 8.4 ppg average. She is shooting 48.6% from the floor, while pulling down 5.6 rebounds per game in 19.5 minutes per game.
Sage will be in action next on January 11 travelling to Stevens for a 7 p.m. Empire 8 contest in Hoboken, NJ.
