Schoff tallies career-best 36 points for her 28th career double-double

Albany, NY- Sage's women's basketball team hosted the Ducks of Stevens in an Empire 8 contest in Kahl Gym on Tuesday night. Led by senior forward Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) as she poured in a career-high 36 points, Sage topped Stevens 82-70. With the win, Sage is 12-4 overall and 6-1 in the league, while Stevens drops to 8-10 overall and 5-4 in the Empire 8.

The Gators led 38-22 at the half and led by as many 18 twice during the fourth quarter as they posted a sweep over Stevens on the season.

Schoff added her 66th career game scoring in double-digits and her 28th career double-double on 36 points and 12 rebounds. She hit 9-of-12 shots from the floor while also converting 18-of-25 free throws in the contest. She tied Sage's single-game free throws made record, which is now co-held with Connie Kaidas (18 vs. SUNY-New Paltz, 2/8/04). Already Sage's career free throw leader, she has 375 made free throws to date. She is also climbing her way toward the No. 1 spot on the career scoring list as she now has 1,277 points, just 136 points shy of breaking the scoring mark held by is Jocelyn Naple (1,421 points, 1994-1998). Schoff has also hauled in 805 career rebounds after Tuesday's effort that included nine offensive and three defensive boards and is also second in rebounding.

Junior guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) added 19 points for Sage after making five three-point baskets with seven assists and two steals. Junior guard Macie Holmes (Amsterdam, NY/Mekeel Christian Academy) racked up nine points with three baskets from the perimeter. Parslow surpassed the 800 career point plateau and now has 807 points (No. 11) with 143 three-pointers which ranks second at Sage. Holmes now has 498 points with 109 three pointers, which is fourth best on the Gator career list.

Stevens got 17 points off the bench from rookie guard Maddi Hahn (Mickelton, NJ/Kingsway Regional) as she hit three three-pointers for the Ducks. Senior forward Megan Brown (Laurel, MD/Laurel) added 12 points with 13 rebounds and added four assist, three blocks and a steal. Sophomore guard Alison Criswell (Arlington, VA/Yorktown) added 11 points for Stevens.

Sage returns to action on Friday, January 26 at St. John Fisher College for an 8 p.m. Empire 8 match-up. Stevens is back in action hosting Hartwick College on January 27 in a 4 p.m. Empire 8 contest.
