Hasting-On-Hudson, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's cross country team travelled to Bard College on Saturday to compete in the Bard Raptor Invitational. The Gators did not finish as a team at the race.
Competing for the men from Sage was sophomore Jarryd Wick (Ayers, MA/E.F. Parker School) and he had a time of 31:07 to finish in 69th place in a field of 173 runners.
Head Coach Zachary Williams noted of Wick, "Jarryd was our lone male runner, and he had a tough day, but powered through it." Williams added, "He was aggressive in the beginning, and paid for it as the race went on. It's still relatively early in our racing season, and he has plenty of time and training left to build up his endurance a bit more. A nasty blister didn't help his effort, but showed a tremendous mental effort to still finish only a handful of seconds off his personal best time."
Next up for the Sage is competition on September 30 at the Saratoga Invitational hosted by RPI at Saratoga State Park.
