Rochester, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's soccer junior forward Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) was named the Empire 8 women's soccer player of the week for her efforts last week as Sage improved to 2-0. Trimblett added 11 points on the week after she scored four goals with three assists. She tallied the game-winning goal as well in the team's 7-0 win over Wells College.
Trimblett now has 31 goals, 20 assists and 82 career points. She is now tied for fourth in career goals at Sage with Michaela McBride (2001-2003), while ranking No. 2 in career assists, tied with Cassidy Bruen (20, 2014-2016). She is fourth all-time in points, just five shy of moving into the No. 3 spot currently held by Nicole Maher (86 points, 2012-2015).
Next up for the Gators, they will host Bard College on September 6 at 7:30 p.m. at ACP's Athletic Complex.
New to the Empire 8 this season, Trimblett is the first Sage performer saluted in the league's weekly player of the week program.
