Barceem Dukes Named Sage Men's Basketball Team Captain

Albany, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's basketball team has announced the selection of senior forward Barceem Dukes (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) as the team captain. Dukes is a returning letterwinner with the Gators and has provided the squad with leadership on and off the court and the title of team captain was bestowed upon him this week. 

Head coach Brian Barnes commented, "The coaching staff is excited to announce that Barceem has been selected as our team captain." Barnes added, "Barceem has set a good example for our younger players to follow and continues to put the program above himself on a daily basis.  We'll be looking to Barceem for leadership as we approach a critical stretch run of regular season Empire 8 Conference play.  I am looking forward to working more closely with Barceem in his well-deserved new role."

A starter in 10 of Sage's 14 games thus far, he has a 9.9 ppg average with a 6.4 rpg average. How owns a 51.7% field goal percentage and is averaging 24.2 minutes per game for the squad. 

Sage will return to action on Friday, January 26 travelling to St. John Fisher College for a 6 p.m. Empire 8 league contest.
