Troy, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team hosted the Mariners of Maritime College on Friday night in a Skyline Conference contest. Sage's senior tri-captain Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) tallied her second straight nine points performance in lifting the Gators to their second straight Skyline Conference win as they beat Maritime, 20-8. With the win, Sage is now 3-6 overall and 2-2 in the Skyline. Maritime falls to 1-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
The 20 goals scored by the Gators on Friday night was a season-high for lineup, while the team just missed tying the Sage single-game scoring record of 21 goals.
Koralus racked up her nine points for the second time in three days, adding eight goals and an assist. She leads the Gators with 39 goals, six assists and 45 points. She is closing in on her 200th career point as she has racked up 194 points with 152 goals and 42 assists. She also owns the record for most career draw controls having amassed 156 already.
Junior attacker Martine Ianniello (Havre de Grace, MD/Havre de Grace) added a personal-best in the match after adding five goals. Graduate performer Nicole Maher (Glen Cove, NY/Saint Dominic) and junior Adriana Spucches (Saugerties, NY/Red Hook) both connected for two goals.
Rookie Brittany Gage (Saugerties, NY/Red Hook) added a goal with three assists in the contest as Sage held a commanding 13-4 lead at the break.
Sage's senior goalie Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) earned the win with her eight saves with six goals allowed in the match with 45 plus minutes of work.
The Gators are back in action on Tuesday, April 11 hosting Elms College at ACP's Athletic Complex in a 5 p.m. non-conference match.
