Albany, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's basketball team hosted the Dolphins of the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Saturday afternoon in Kahl Gym in a Skyline Conference contest. Sage jumped out to an early lead and never look back as they posted the squad's fourth straight victory, winning 77-48. Sage is now 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the Skyline, while CMSV drops to 4-5 overall and 3-2 in the league.
The Gators held a 48-24 lead at the half as sophomore Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) had 14 points at the break, while junior forward Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) had 14 first-half scores. By game's end, Parslow finished with 19 points and Schoff added 18 points with eight boards.
Sage's senior guard Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) added 12 points with a team-best nine rebounds as 10 different Gators scored on the afternoon. Pearson is closing in on her 1,000th career point as she has 851 points, which ranks 8th all-time at Sage. She continues to add to her active mark for most Sage career three-point baskets as she has 150 baskets from down town in 89 career games played. She is 8th in games played at Sage as well.
Schoff is also climbing the Gator scoring mark as she has 784 points and moved past Erin Murphy (772 pts., 1999-2002) and is 10th. Schoff also has hauled in 491 career rebound and is 7th all-time.
Sage's sophomore Kaitlyn Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) added nine points with six rebounds, while handing out two assists in the action with a steal. Rookie guard Gessica Patregnani (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) added six points with a pair of assists as the Gators held a commanding edge on the boards, 50-26. Junior forward Teagan Clough (Watervliet, NY/Watervliet) added six rebounds off the bench with four points.
Prior to the game, Sage unveiled a banner to honor the 2015-2016 Women's Basketball Team which won the 2015-2016 Skyline Conference regular-season championship after a school-record 15-1 campaign. Overall, Sage also posted a 21-6 record on the year, setting another program high-water mark for most wins in a season.
Sage is back in action on January 4, 2017 travelling to Farmingdale State College for a Skyline Conference game at 7 p.m.
