Albany, NY –With the release of the 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ Women's Soccer Team, The Sage Colleges' sophomore forward Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) has need recognized as one the nation's top student-athletes for her combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
The Academic All-District™ teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the sixth year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America® Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
The Division II and III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2016-17 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams program.
First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Trimblett, who leads the Gators this fall with her impressive 36 points on 15 goals and six assists, was placed on the all-district team for the first time during her career. A graphic design and media major at Sage, she boasts a 3.68 cumulative grade point average. As a rookie, she was named the 2015 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year after leading Sage to the program's first Skyline Conference regular-season title with a school record 8-1 league record. Sage also set a program record for most wins in a season in 2015 after going 14-4-1 on the campaign.
As a rookie, Trimblett had 31 points on 11 goals with nine assists and four game-winning goals. Only a sophomore, she is already rewriting the program's record book as she boasts 67 career points. She stands fifth all-time in career points, while her 26 career goals is No. 8 and her 15 career assists is fourth highest. A 2015 Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete honoree, Trimblett will advance to the national ballot with a chance to become the program's first women's soccer CoSIDA Academic All-American.
