Springfield, MA– The Sage Colleges' women's cross country squad travelled to Massachusetts to compete in the Western New England University Golden Bear Invitational. Sage's women's team finished in 14th place with a score of 314.
In the women's race which was a 5 k course, Sage's junior Shannon Farrell (Indian Lake, NY/Indian Lake Central) was once again the top finisher for the Gators as she ran a time of 20:34 and took home 19th place in a field of 242 runners.
Rookie Amanda Jones (West Sand Lake, NY/Columbia) posted a time of 21:01 to take 31st place, while senior Hannah Tighe (East Greenwich, RI/East Greenwich) took home 79th in 22:52. Sophomore Sagan Leggett (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) posted a time 23:27 and took 89th place.
Sage Lauren Belfast (Ilion, NY/Ilion) picked up 96th in 23:55, while sophomore Julia Skoda (Philmont, NY/Taconic Hills) finished 136th in 27:42, while rookie Joanna Tavolaro (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) recorded a 137th place showing in 27:46. Senior Melissa Grimaldi (Nassau, NY/Columbia) rounded out the runners with her time of 29:08 and finished 223rd.
Sage will be back in action on Sunday, October 30 when they travel to compete at the 2016 Skyline Conference Championships in Sayville, NY
