Albany, NY–The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team has named their team captains for the 2016 season. Sage has chosen the trio of seniors Alex Lanza (Poughkeepsie, NY/Spackenkill) and Anthony Williamson (Beacon, NY/Beacon) and junior Paul Reynoso (Oswego, NY/G. Ray Bodley) to lead the Gators.

Head men's soccer coach Keith Simons said of the trio, "These three student-athlete are a fantastic mixture of desirable qualities that will help the team in every facet of the game." He added, "They all bring unique qualities of leadership to the group and will be instrumental in our team's development."

The 2015 Gators won the program's first Skyline Conference tournament championship as well as garnering the team's first NCAA Division III tournament appearance along the way. On the season, Sage went 13-4-3 and established a school record for most shutouts in a season with 13.

Tapped as the pre-season favorite for the upcoming campaign, Sage's men's team earned five first place votes with the release of the 2016 Skyline Conference Coaches' Pre-season poll.

Sage opens the 2016 campaign on September 1 travelling to Union College to compete in the Union Classic and meets cross town rival, RPI at 4:30 p.m. at Union. The Gators will face the host, Union College Dutchmen on September 3 at Union's College Park Field at 1 p.m.

Sage will host Cazenovia in the squad's 2016 home opener on September 6 at 4 p.m. at Albany College of Pharmacy's Athletic Complex. All told, the Gators will host nine opponents this coming season.
