Newburgh, NY – Russell Sage College's women's tennis team traveled to Mt. St. Mary College on Monday night for a match-up with the Knights. MSMC improves to 4-1 overall, while RSC is now 0-7.
After earning her second straight Empire 8 Women's Tennis Player of the Week citation, RSC's rookie Maddie Cherry (Las Vegas, NV/Odyssey Charter) added two more wins to her resume on Monday. She beat Katie Murray, 6-0, 6-0 at first singles. She teamed at No. 1 doubles with senior Taylor Gillespie (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) for an 8-0 win Julia Flynn and Carly Green, 8-0. The Gator duo boasts a 5-0 record with one another.
The Gators are back in action on October 1 for an Empire 8 match at Hartwick in Empire 8 action at 4 p.m.
