ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College swept the Empire 8 Conference Track and Field Weekly Awards for the period ending Sunday, March 27.
Freshman David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) was named the Track Athlete of the Week, while junior John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) was selected the Field Athlete of the Week.
Adadjo finished in the top-five in all four events that he competed in at Saturday's Wesleyan University Elmer J. Swanson Invitational. He was third in the triple jump with a school-record leap of 12.93 meters The rookie was also third in the 100 meter dash (11.26), fourth in the 200 meter dash (23.04), and fifth in the 400 meter run (52.24).
Coddington established program outdoor records in the shot put and hammer throw. He won the shot put with a mark of 14.79 meters and finished fourth in the hammer with a toss of 40.39 meters.
Looking ahead, the Gators compete next on Saturday at the Hamilton College Invitational.
