Albany, NY — Russell Sage College's department of athletics is excited to welcome Ivy Watts to campus for a discussion with the student-athletes as part of the school's Gator Night on August 25. The discussion will take place at 7 p.m. in the Armory and will run for approximately 45 minutes and be followed by a question and answer period.
Ivy Watts, a former Division II All-American track athlete, who appeared to have it all together struggled daily with her mental health, in silence. After finally seeking help, Ivy is now dedicated to promoting mental wellness and reducing mental health stigma by sharing her story through public speaking and her blog, Beautifully Simply You. Ivy, who is Certified in Mental Health First Aid and has her Masters in Public Health, empowers others to speak their truths, know that they are not alone, learn the beauty of self-love and find the strength to keep fighting for their tomorrows.
Watts has her undergrad in psychology from University of New Haven, as well as her Masters in Public Health from Boston University. She has empowered over 10,000 students and over 5,000 administrators/coaches, as well as parents and employees to practice mental wellness for themselves and for others.
