Albany, NY—Russell Sage College's department of athletics announced their award winners for the 2021-2022 academic year at the annual awards banquet. In addition to several honors bestowed for athletic and academic excellence, Sage also selected the Gator of the Year Award for the department's 21 varsity sports for the 2021-2022 year. The Dean Sharon Robinson Senior Scholar-Athlete Award recognizes our exceptional senior male and female scholar-athletes for their accomplishments in the classroom and their distinguished efforts as a Sage Scholar-Athlete. This award is given in recognition of Dean Robinson's service and passion for excellence in higher education and love of intercollegiate athletics.
RSC's women's soccer forward Hallie Klosterman (Modena, NY/Wallkill Valley) was honored as the 2021-2022 Dean Sharon Robinson recipient. She was also named to the Sage Athletic Honor Society for the second straight year.
Head Women's Soccer Coach Garrett Cobb remarked "Hallie is a coach's dream." He continued, "Top notch on the field and even better in the classroom. Her work rate is unparalleled on the field and her commitment to her academics is just as tremendous. Hallie is the perfect example of an inspiring Student-Athlete and this award is so well deserved.
Klosterman achieved a 3.953 GPA and was a health sciences major with a path to physical therapy at Sage. She was also named the 2020-2021 Capital District Sportswoman of the Year. Voted a team captain, she finished the season with 43 career points on 16 goals and 11 assists, her career totals rank 16th, 16th and 13th (tied) in program records. She was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team.
