Purchase, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team travelled to Purchase College on Saturday for a Skyline Conference quad match. Sage beat Ramapo College, 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 26-24, 28-26) and then bested the host Purchase College Panthers, 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-11). The victories extend the Gators' win streak to seven matches and puts the Gators as a lock for the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Skyline Conference tournament on April 13, which will be held at Kean University.

The Gators are now 26-6 overall and 11-2 in the conference and continue to rewrite the young program's record book, they have bettered the school mark for most conference wins in a season which had been 9, a feat they hit last year, while charting new waters with the team's record 26th win of the season, all under Coach Sandy Augstein-Collins.

Among the many highlights for the Gators on Saturday was the accomplishment of senior setter Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) who became the first Sage men's volleyball player to achieve 1,000 setting assists in the season. He entered the day needing just three to hit the mark and by day's end had tallied 77 and now 1,074 setting assists this season.  The Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week, Ray now has 2,635 setting assists as the team's first four-year performer.

Against Ramapo, Sage's junior outside Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) connected for 17 kills with 11 digs. Senior middle hitter Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem Central) had 10 kills with nine digs, while sophomore outside Andy Fishman (Cornwallville, NY/ Cairo-Durham) added 14 kills. Ray handed out 48 setting assists in the match.

In the second match against, Purchase, junior Connor Thompson (Delmar, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) posted seven kills, while Fishman added eight kills.  Ray had 29 setting assists, while junior outside hitter Justin Pruiksma (Athens, NY/Coxsackie-Athens) had five kills.

The Gators wrap the 2013 regular-season on Wednesday, April 10 hosting New Jersey City University in a 7 p.m. Skyline match at the Kahl Gym. The Gators will honor their 2013 seniors in conjunction with Senior Night, Kyle Ray, Spencer Hilland and Ryan Kramer (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central).
