Sage volleyball improves to 10-2 with victory over Purchase

Purchase, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team travelled to Purchase College for a Skyline Conference contest. The Gators racked up a 3-0 win to improve to 10-2 overall and 5-1 in the league, while the Panthers fall to 1-8 overall and 1-6 in the conference.

Sage's senior setter Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads), who was named the Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week, ranks 10th in Division III with his 9.55 setting assists per set thus far on the season with the release of the first NCAA Division III statistics. He connected for 28 setting assists in the match, while adding an ace and a dig.        

Sophomore outside Andy Fishman (Cornwallville, NY/Cairo-Durham) added one ace and leads Division III with his impressive 1.5 aces per set average.  Against the Panthers, he had five kills with four digs. He has 46 aces on the season, which leads both Sage and the Skyline Conference.

Gator junior outside Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) paced the team with his 10 kills and five digs and six block assists. Junior opposite Scott Fitzgerald (Fort Edwards, NY/Queensbury) racked up five kills for the Gators, while junior Connor Thompson (Delmar, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) connected for five kills with six blocks assists.

The Gators are back in action at the Bard College Raptors Invitational. Sage opens round robin play on Friday evening facing Berkeley College (NJ) at 7 p.m.
