Fishman and Gators among NCAA leaders

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team stands at 18-5 on the season, a single-season standard for wins for the four-year old Gator men's volleyball program.

With the release of the fourth week of statistics for NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball, Sage's program continues to rank among the best nationally. As a team, Sage ranks No. 3 in aces per set (2.27), while also ranking No. 4 in win percentage (18-5, .783). The Gators are ranked No. 12 in hitting percentage (.254) and No. 19 in blocks per set (2.02).  The team is also ranked No. 24 in kills per set (11.55) and No. 22 in assists per set (10.71) and No. 23 in digs per set (9.63).

Sage's sophomore outside Andy Fishman (Cornwallville, NY/ Cairo-Durham) earned his second all-tournament team selection as he was named to the Endicott College March Mania All-Tournament Team on Sunday. For the sixth time on the season, Fishman was recognized as the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week.  Fishman season includes a number of new high-water marks for the Gators. At the tournament, he compiled 59 kills and 31 digs. He averaged 3.93 kills and 2.07 digs over 15 sets and has now earned Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week honors six times this season. He leads the Gators with his single-season 67 aces.

Fishman leads Division III as well for the third straight week with his aces per set average (0.99) and also checks in at the No. 16 spot in kills per set (3.41) and No. 27 in hitting percentage (.314). On the season, he boasts 232 kills with a school-record 67 aces and has 114 digs.

Sage's senior setter Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads), who leads the Gators with his 2,306 career  setting assists is ranked No. 15 in Division III with his 9.09 setting assists per set average.  Ray leads the team with his 700 setting assists, while adding 19 aces and 110 digs.

Junior Connor Thompson (Delmar, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) ranks No. 9 in blocks per set this season (1.02) and now has 58 total blocks. Overall on his career, he has an impressive 197 total blocks with 43 solo blocks.

Junior outside Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) ranks in aces per set and hitting percentage. Krowicki is No. 36 in aces per set (0.36) and No. 38 in hitting percentage (.285). Krowicki now has 203 kills on the season with 132 digs.

Sage's senior middle hitter Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem Central) ranks No. 38 in blocks per set (0.8) and No. 41 in aces per set (0.35).  He has 157 kills on the season with 24 aces and 55 total blocks. He leads the team with his 133 digs. Overall on his Sage career, he has tallied 714 kills, 425 digs and 203 total blocks.

The Gators are back in action on March 27 travelling to SUNY-IT for a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
