Gators Knock Off Ramapo on Friday in Skyline Action for Key Win

Mahwah, NJ – The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team knocked off the Skyline Conference's top team on Friday night as they beat Ramapo College, 3-1 (13-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-20). The victory puts Sage at 14-3 overall and 6-2 in the league, while the Roadrunners drops to 8-5 overall and 6-1.

The Roadrunners took the first set 25-13 and the Gators came from behind and reeled off three straight wins after tying the action at one set apiece after taking set two, 26-24. 

Sage's sophomore outside Andy Fishman (Cornwallville, NY/ Cairo-Durham) tallied a team-high 15 kills in the action, with six digs and six total blocks including five block assists. He had no errors in his 20 receptions and for the first time this season he was unable to pick up any aces in the action.

Junior middle hitter Connor Thompson (Delmar, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) had five kills with four total blocks, while junior outside Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) also had five kills with seven digs.  Senior setter Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) added 31 setting assists with two aces and 10 digs. Senior middle hitter Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem Central) added four kills for the Gators with 16 digs and seven total blocks after adding six block assists to pace Sage to the key win.

The Gators are back in action on Sunday, March 3 at Yeshiva in a tri-match with the host Maccabees and NYU-Poly with Skyline matches at noon and 2 p.m.
