Sage men's volleyball team ranked among national stats leaders for Division 3

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team is 16-3 on the season and is once again one of the top programs mentioned with the release of the lastest NCAA Division III men's volleyball statsitsics.

With the release of the third week of statistics for NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball, Sage's program continues to rank among the best nationally. As a team, Sage ranks No. 2 in aces per set (2.54), while also ranking No. 2 in win percentage (16-3, .842). The Gators are ranked No. 6 in hitting percentage (.287) and No. 15 in setting assists per set (10.95). The team is also ranked No. 18 in kills per set (11.75) and No. 21 in digs per set (9.73) and No. 25 in blocks per set (1.88).

Sophomore outside Andy Fishman (Cornwallville, NY/ Cairo-Durham), who was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week this past week, marking his fifth selection as the league's top newcomer, continues to impress. He ranks tops in country with his school-record 63 aces. He is first for the third week in a row with his 1.19 service aces per set average.  He checks in No. 20 in hitting percentage (.331), while also standing at No. 23 in kills per set (3.26).

Sage's senior setter Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads), who leads the Gators with his 2,174 career  setting assists is ranked No. 15 in Division III with his 9.16 setting assists per set average (568).

Junior outside Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) ranks in three categories. He is No. 26 in hitting percentage (.322), No. 36 in aces per set (0.4), and No. 44 in kills per set (2.71). Overall on the 2013 season, he has 171 kills and 25 aces.

Also ranked from Sage is senior middle hitter Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem Central), who earned a spot on this past week's Skyline Conference Honor Roll, ranks No. 29 in hitting percentage (.309) and No. 46 in blocks per set (0.76). He has 127 kills on the season with 19 aces and 41 total blocks. Overall on his Sage career, he has tallied 684 kills, 391 digs and 189 total blocks.

Junior Connor Thompson (Delmar, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) ranks No. 31 in blocks per set this season (0.84) and now has 36 total blocks. Overall on his career, he has an impressive 175 total blocks with 41 solo blocks..

The Gators are back in action on March 9 on the campus of Endicott College. The Gators will face No. 14 ranked Rivier College at 2p.m. and Johnson and Wales University at 4 p.m. Action wraps on Sunday with Sage facing MIT at 11 a.m. and Elms College at 1 p.m.
