Beverly, MA– The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team opened competition on Saturday at the Endicott College March Mania Tournament. The two-day tournament features eight teams competing over the course of two-days with four matches each.

Sage opened competition taking on No. 14 ranked Rivier College. The Gators fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-19).  In the nightcap, Sage picked up a 3-1 win over Johnson & Wales College (16-25, 25-19, 27-25, 25-18). Sage is now 17-4 on the year and has tied the school record for most wins in a season after last year's team went 17-10.

Sage returns to action on Sunday facing No. 13 ranked MIT at 11 a.m. and Elms College at 1 p.m. to cap action in the highly competitive tournament.

Against Rivier, sophomore outside Andy Fishman (Cornwallville, NY/ Cairo-Durham) tallied a team-best nine kills with eight digs and was perfect with no errors in 17 reception attempts. Junior outside Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) added seven kills. 

Senior middle hitter Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem Central) had four kills with seven digs and a pair of blocks. Senior setter Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) added 20 setting assists with five digs.

Against J & W, the Gators were paced by a double-double performance from Fishman as he had 17 kills with 12 digs. Krowicki racked up 13 kills with five total blocks, while junior middle hitter Connor Thompson (Delmar, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) had a team-best 10 blocks. He now leads the Gators with his 47 total blocks, giving him 186 career total blocks at Sage.
