A two-year letterwinner for men’s volleyball at Sage, Connor Thompson was named the team’s Most Improved Player as a newcomer in 2011. Honored that same season with a selection as the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week once, he finished the season with 106 kills in 86 sets played. He added a team-best 74 total blocks with 19 digs.

A year ago, Thompson, who also played for Sage’s men’s soccer team in 2010, added 92 kills with 65 total blocks. He played in 92 sets for the Gators and now has 198 career kills in 52 matches played. He has 47 career digs and 139 total blocks. His 139 career total blocks ranks No. 2 at Sage, while his 0.78 blocks per set average is also second. He stands second entering the 2013 season with his 35 solo blocks and second with 104 block assists.

A graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, Thompson excelled in four sports there (soccer, indoor track, outdoor track, and tennis). He was named to the all-star team in soccer as a senior. He is majoring in law and justice at Sage and is the son of Vince Thompson and Karen Diamond.
