A two-year letterwinner with the men’s volleyball program at Sage, Spencer Hilland was named the team’s Gator of the Year in 2011, while serving as a team co-captain. Named to the Skyline Conference All-Star First Team in 2011, he paced the team with his 240 kills and 102 digs and ranked among the NCAA Division III leaders after he finished the season ranked 14^th in kills and blocks (61). 

He became the first Sage men’s volleyball player to repeat as a Skyline Conference All-Star First Team honoree after another banner campaign last season. He had a personal-best 317 kills, while adding 190 digs, 87 total blocks and an impressive .237 hitting percentage. He became the first player in the program’s young history to surpass the 500 career kill plateau. He opens the 2013 with 557 career kills in 45 matches played with 292 digs, 24 aces, and 148 total blocks.

On the 2012 season, he was ranked 25^th nationally in blocks (0.91 per set), and 20^th in kills per set (3.3) and was named the team’s Gator of the Year for the second straight season.

He is the son of Johnny and Julie Hilland and is majoring in physical education at Sage. A graduate of Bethlehem Central High School, he played volleyball there.
