Sage men's volleyball players sweep Skyline weekly honors

New York, NY---The 2013 men's volleyball season has opened and with the completion of the first week, the Skyline Conference has selected the first player and rookie of the week honorees. Sage's men's volleyball team which opened the year with a 4-1 mark were rewarded with the Player of the Week in junior Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) and the Rookie of the Week in Andy Fishman (Cornwallville, NY/Cairo-Durham).

Player of the Week

Dylan Krowicki – The Sage Colleges
Junior, Middle Hitter, Little Falls, NY/Little Falls

Krowicki averaged 3.39 kills and 2.06 digs with a .402 attacking percentage over 18 total sets as Sage won four of its five matches on the week...compiled 61 kills, 37 digs and 14 total blocks...registered 12 kills on Jan. 26 in the Gators' 3-0 win versus Hilbert and 10 kills in 3-1 victory over SUNY-IT.

Rookie of the Week

Andy Fishman – The Sage Colleges
Freshman, Outside Hitter, Cornwallville, NY/Cairo-Durham

Making his collegiate debut, Fishman amassed 54 kills, 37 digs and 16 aces in three matches...had an attacking percentage of .457 and averaged 4.91 kills and 2.27 digs over 11 sets...recorded a team-high 18 kills on Jan. 25 in the Gators' 3-0 victory over Wells...also averaged 0.27 assists per set as Sage won four of its five contests on the week.

The Gators return to action on February 2 travelling to New Jersey City University (Jersey City, NJ) for the 2013 Skyline Conference opener. Sage will compete in a tri-match facing the host Gothic Knights and NYU-Poly in matches at noon and 2 p.m.
